Teaching and examination serve different purposes. Training develops skills. IBPE examines those skills against a published standard. The result is a documented record of demonstrated competence that can be independently verified through the official system.
CAPA / La Couronne trains. IBPE examines. Skill Passport verifies. Industry uses verified skills. Published standards, defined criteria, independent evaluation, conflict controls and moderation protect the examination decision.
The person who teaches you should not be the sole person who decides whether you have demonstrated professional competence. Preparation routes and higher-level entry depend on the published qualification policy.
Six levels, Foundation to Master
Candidates may progress sequentially or enter at an appropriate higher level where the published entry requirements permit. Approved duration, components, criteria and pass standards must be published before operational registration.
What the Board does, and what it does not
Define standards and examine
Published standards, theory and practical examinations, independent marking, moderation and documented results.
Maintain examination integrity
Examiner management, conflict controls, certification and verifiable examination records under approved policies.
Teach or guarantee employment
Education and training belong to providers. Employment decisions remain with employers.
Sell or commercially alter results
No preferential grading. No government recognition claim without a legal basis. Commercial relationships must never determine outcomes.
Demonstrate competence under controlled examination conditions.
Identity verification, station allocation, brief control, defined timing, equipment controls, examiner observation, hygiene monitoring and documentation support examination integrity. Where required by the qualification, two examiners record independent marks before reconciliation or moderation.
Which level should you sit?
Each qualification has its own entry requirements. Experienced candidates may seek higher-level entry only where the published policy permits and the required evidence is accepted.
